Hello Star*Fans!

Late Sunday morning the New Moon occurs at 17 Sagittarius 16. It will be exact at 12:39 PM EST, 11:39 PM CST, 10:39 PM MST and 9:39 PM PST. Sagittarius is a sign of far reaching implications. It is a time when opportunities may be milked, when contracts can be finalized, when finances may be paid. This can be a time of travel, of great wisdom or insight. A path to the future is about to unfold. This is a time during which the door is opened, when the stepping stones are there; but this opportunity will not last forever. Like the arrow, the fame or advantages of the Sagittarian are fleeting. like the gallop of the centaurs across the frosty grasses on a late fall morning. It can all happen quickly, and we can miss it if you're not paying attention. Last September, Rosh Hashanna was a time to 'get ourselves right' in relation to each other in society. During Sagittarius it is a time for us to get right before God. What are you doing here with your time, with your life? What are your aspirations? History of the Star: This is not the Grafias listed in Vivian Robson's book. The Grafias referred to in Robson's book and other texts is said to be misnamed and should be called Acrab (Beta Scorpio, now at 03SAG12, in the Head of the Scorpion). This small star (Zeta Scorpius) is situated in the third joint of the tail of the Scorpion.

 
Close to the helio planetary South Node of Venus; 15SAG45  in 1900 - 16SAG41 in 2000. 
 

Influences of the constellation: The Scorpion is associated with the Hebrew letter Oin and the 16th Tarot Trump "The Lightning-Struck Tower".

Rising: By virtue of his tail armed with its powerful sting, wherewith, when conducting the Sun's chariot through his sign, he cleaves the soil and sows seed in the furrow, the Scorpion creates natures ardent for war and active service, and a spirit which rejoices in plenteous bloodshed and in carnage more than in plunder. Why, these men spend even peace under arms: they fill the glades and scour the woods; they wage fierce warfare now against man, now against beast, and now they sell their persons to provide the spectacle of death and to perish in the arena, when, warfare in abeyance, they each find themselves foes to attack. There are those, too, who enjoy mock-fights and jousts in arms (such is their love of fighting) and devote their leisure to the study of war and every pursuit which arises from the art of war.

History of the star: A star on the left knee of the Serpent Bearer Ophiuchus.

With zeta (Han) it shared the title Sabik, or As-Sabiq (1), "Preceding One".

 

Zeta (Han), eta (this star Sabik), theta, and xi, were the Persian Garafsa, or "Serpent-tamer".

Zeta (Han) with eta (this star Sabik), were the Sogdian Bastham, "Bound", i.e. "Ophiuchus enveloped in the coils of Ophis"; and they were the Khorasmian Sardhiwa, the "Head of the Evil One" [although this star is not anywhere near the head of the snake Serpens].

This star eta was also included with theta and xi in the Egyptian Coptic Tshio, "the Snake", and Aggia, "the Magician". These same stars were the Akkadian Tsir, or Sir, "the Snake".

 

Epsilon (Yed Posterior), delta (Yed Prior) with zeta (Han), and eta Ophiuchi (this star Sabik) and alpha (Unukalhai), delta, and epsilon of Serpens, constituted the Nasak al Yamaniyy, "the Southern Boundary Line of the Raudah", or "Pasture", which here occupied a large portion of the heavens; other stars in Ophiuchus and Hercules forming the Nasak al Shamiyyah, or Northern Boundary.

Influences of constellation: "It is said to give a passionate, blindly good-hearted, and easily seduced nature. Pliny said that it occasioned much mortality by poisoning. This constellation has also been called Aesculapius and held to rule medicines. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Oin and the 16th Tarot Trump, The Lightning Struck Tower".

With Moon: Secret enmity and jealousy, trouble through relatives, successful but not wealthy, success in breeding stock.

With Mercury: Injury from open enemies, little help from friends, failure in business, fairly good for gain but legal losses.

With Venus: Musical and artistic ability.

With Mars: Unorthodox or heretical religious views that may cause trouble, trouble through love affairs.

With Jupiter: Material success, preferment in Church or law but criticized, gain through large animals, trouble through relatives.

With Saturn: Industrious, persevering, economical, strong passions, trouble through some active indiscretion affecting whole life, secret help from female friends which may cause scandal, success especially in latter part of life in affairs of an earthy or Sagittarian nature, but little prominence.

With Uranus: Sincere, sober, retiring, melancholy, thoughtful, calm and patient in trouble, clergyman or associated with the Church, some physical disability, separated from friends and relatives, some great sorrow in the life, occupied in doing good but disappointed in results.

With Neptune: Highly sensitive, psychic, strong will, prominent writer or speaker, success, many friend, favors from opposite sex, gifts and legacies used for scientific purposes.

                          CHART OF THE NEW MOON

 

   There are several patterns being set off by the New Moon this month. The first is that this is a New Moon in Sagittarius, the second is that Jupiter, the ruler of Sag, will be conjuncting Pluto on Tuesday morning/afternoon, depending on your time zone. Major wheels are turning now, especially for those of you with planets at 28 degrees of the fire signs, but the same degrees of the air signs are feeling the warming effects as well. If you have planets are either 17 or 28 degrees of Earth (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) or Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces) at these degrees, the transition will be somewhat tougher, and being careful not to over-spend (or otherwise over-indulge) is heaven's message for you. Once again, the New Moon is at 17 degrees of Sag, the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction at 28 degrees of Sag. These are the generic themes and many people will respond to them strongly, but you really need to know just what these alignments are doing to YOUR chart to figure out whether you should crank up the gas (Sag loves to crank up the gas), or whether you should play your cards more conservatively. We can now make major changes, throwing out old deadwood, taping some available resource that has been made available to us, or simply looking at the bigger picture. We are better able to foresee the future, determine trends in our surrounding social and political settings and there's a stellar reason why. Like the seasonal chorus of the season, this is a wonderful time to access your spiritual counselor and take stock to the events that are about to unfold, not only for the month, but for the year.

 

   We have a rare Star of David being formed over the next 72 hours following the New Moon. You can see the Grand Water Trine closing in the New Moon chart. Venus is trining the asteroid Pallas at 4 Scorpio and 4 Pisces. Mars is at 8 Cancer and dropping, since it is retrograde. By Tuesday their orbs will have tightened, and Venus and Mars will trine each other exactly.

 

   The other piece is the Grand Earth Trine. A Star of David is either a Grand Water Trine superimposed on a Grand Earth Trine OR it is a Grand Fire Trine superimposed on a Grand Air Trine. This month we have the first of these two in effect. In the New Moon chart Saturn is trining Ceres at 8 Virgo and 10 Taurus. The Moon runs through the degrees of Capricorn later Monday and Tuesday, filling in the missing leg of the Star of David. In antiquity this was a much rarer combination, as they were only working with the seven visible planets, but now we have Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, not to mention the asteroids, Ceres, Pallas, Vesta and Juno, and Chiron (not an asteroid). It's a little easier to see them now as we have many more 'players' involved in the mix, but they still weave together some of the celestial forces in a marvelous manor.

 

   There's going to need to be some tough work under difficult conditions, and we must be willing to discipline ourselves to the pace. The Moon is in Capricorn, Saturn's in Virgo. It's going to take time, and we may not receive a lot of thanks for the efforts which are needed. Be sure to take care of your own health, especially around diet (Ceres) during these days and month.

 

   With Venus and Mars moving into a trine in the water signs, however, this can also be a passionate or very creative time. Sensuality may be deeply stirred. We could find ourselves giving into our pleasures, or the food may be particularly good, but whatever it is, it seems to work and work well. Family, romance, and personal down time all bode well, especially after the main work has been accomplished (Earth trine).

 

   On Monday morning, around 10 AM, the Moon will conjunct and activate the Jupiter Pluto alignment. On Monday afternoon the Moon then enters Capricorn, and between about 3 AM and 8 PM on Tuesday (Eastern times) it begins to make all the alignments which really set off the Star of David more tightly. Taking care of the elderly, taking care of business, taking care of your responsibilities are all a part of what is being called for.

I see becoming the witness, stepping out of the world or waking up from a dream as the same thing, just different words and senerios to explain the part of seperating one self from the identiy/belief one has bought into.

To me it was a process. I first looked to find Love, Peace and Joy within my self. I did this by counteracting all thoughts with I am spirit and spirit is perfect. I counteracted not only negative, limited thoughts but also positive thoughts. I also counteracted things people would bring to my attention negative as well as positive. I no longer seeked to feel good about myself...I just acepted myself as I was.

At times I found myself feeling Joyful without any "reason/cause" then peaceful and loving...without anything causing this feeling. These feelings came from within. They were me.

Then one day while fighting with partner, I realized that it was not "I" that was fighting....but Vivian. I found myself, my true self apart from Vivian. I had become one with Vivian believing I am Vivian. I knew at that time that I could stop fighting or continue and it would not affect me either way. It never happened to me.

I would be driving down the street in oneness with all and see a car in front of me turning and Vivian acting upon what she saw. I saw Vivian, the car and everything around me, yet fully aware of me. I know it sounds crazy, but it was/is marvelous. No longer am I affected by outer circumstances. It does not change who I am. An appearance no longer pulls me out of being one. I stay within myself, no matter what happens on the outside.

I have a completely "normal" life. With kids, partner and many animals. I cook and clean and go about my day and life as everyone else but without fear and worry. In spite of an appearance I remain who I am....one with my father.
